Chikou Span (Lagging Span)
Definition
The current close, plotted 26 candles back, so you can compare it with where price traded then.
Example
Say a stock closes at $75.00 today, and 26 candles ago it was trading around $70.00. The Chikou Span plots today’s $75.00 back at that earlier candle, $5.00 above where price was then, which Ichimoku traders read as strength. It can look as if the line saw the future, but it uses no future data: it is simply today’s close shifted 26 candles to the left.
