How to use UpTickFlow

Everything the indicator draws, what it means, and every setting — in the order you'll need it.

Add it to your chart

After you claim access on Whop, open TradingView, click Indicators and choose Invite-only scripts. Select UpTickFlow and it appears on your chart, drawn on top of price.

UpTickFlow is built for liquid US stocks, ETFs and index futures in the regular session (9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. New York time). It works in two modes, chosen by your chart: on 1-minute to 1-hour charts it is a trading map with rare signals, and on daily and weekly charts it shows the three gates of the UpTickFlow Strategy. On 2-hour and 4-hour charts it shows levels and divergences only.

For intraday signals, the 15-minute chart is a good balance between how often signals appear and how much noise they face. Every chart stays clean: the flow line, VWAP, the nearest key levels, at most two signals per session, and a three-row dashboard.

To read everything in Arabic, set "Language" to العربية: the labels, the dashboard and the tooltips all switch.

The seven settings

Everything else is tuned for you and changes automatically with the chart's timeframe, so two traders on the same chart see the same thing.

Language
English or العربية, for every label, the dashboard and the tooltips.
Signals (A+ only)
On by default. Off turns UpTickFlow into a map only: levels, VWAP, the flow line and the dashboard, with no signals.
Key levels
Yesterday's high and low, the opening range and the nearest higher-timeframe levels. Off hides them; they still count in the engine.
Show divergences
Off, Tags (a small tag where an RSI divergence is confirmed) or Tags + lines.
Results table (simulated)
Off by default. On shows how the signals on this chart would have played out, with costs.
Dashboard position
Any corner of the chart.
Text size
Tiny, Small or Normal. On a phone, Tiny fits best.

Read a signal

A green BUY A+ label under a candle is a long signal; a red SELL A+ label above a candle is a short one. Signals are rare by design: at most two per session, a pause of six bars after each one, and only one trade at a time. Hover the label for the full plan: setup and score, the trigger and the level it fired at, the entry, the stop, target 1 (1R) and target 2 with its reward-to-risk, the trend of each higher frame, the regime with ADX and relative volume, and the breakdown of the score.

A signal appears only after its candle closes and never moves. Entry is the next bar's open. If that open gaps so far that the plan no longer makes sense — through the stop, or with less than 1R left to target 2 — the signal is cancelled: the label turns grey and its tooltip says "CANCELLED at next open".

Every setup gets a score from 0 to 100 from six parts: trend (three higher frames, the flow line and market structure, 25), level (how many levels meet at the setup, more when one comes from a bigger timeframe, 20), the trigger candle (15), relative volume at this minute of the session (15), momentum (a fresh RSI divergence, or RSI turning with the trade plus strength against SPY, 10) and room to the next level (15). Only scores of 70 or more — A+ — reach your chart.

The three setups

On every closed candle UpTickFlow checks three setups at the levels traders watch and keeps the best-scoring one.

Level reversal
A rejection at a zone, a reclaim after a failed break, or a break & retest after the zone flipped.
Liquidity sweep & reclaim
A run through yesterday's, the pre-market or the opening range's high or low (or the last swing) that closes back inside.
VWAP reclaim
Price was on the other side of VWAP one to five bars ago and closes back with a trigger candle.

Follow the plan

Once a trade starts, UpTickFlow draws it: a green box from the entry to target 2, a red box from the entry to the stop, and a dashed line at target 1. When target 1 is hit, the stop moves to the entry.

The Plan row of the dashboard always says what the engine is doing:

ENTRY next open
A signal fired on the last closed bar; the trade starts at the next open.
IN LONG / IN SHORT
A simulated trade is running, with its current result in R, and "T1 hit" once target 1 is reached.
Frames mixed → WAIT
The bigger frames disagree. Do nothing.
Opening filter · Dead window
No new signals in the first 10 minutes, the midday lull (11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.) and the last 30 minutes.
Market closed · Outside session hours
No new bars are coming in, or the market is open outside the regular session.
Abnormal volatility → stand aside
The market is unusually wild or unusually quiet; the engine stays out.
Choppy market → stay out
There is no clear direction.
Enough signals for today
Two signals already fired this session.
Scanning levels
Conditions are fine; it is waiting for a setup at a level.

The dashboard

Three rows, read at a glance. Frames are chosen from your chart: 1 to 5 minutes reads 15m, 30m and 1H; 15m reads 30m, 1H and 4H; 30m reads 1H, 4H and D; 1H reads 4H, D and W. A frame is up when, on its closed bars, price is above its fast average, the fast average is above the slow one and rising; down is the mirror image; anything else is neutral.

Trend
Up, Down or Mixed, with the arrow of each of the three higher frames.
Plan
What the engine is doing now (see "Follow the plan").
Level / Levels
The nearest support or resistance and its distance in ATR — or, during a trade, its stop and target.

The flow line and VWAP

The green or red line close to price is the flow line: Perry Kaufman's adaptive average, which follows price closely in clean moves and flattens in chop. It changes colour only on a closed candle, when price clears it by a buffer that widens in choppy markets and the line itself has turned the same way — one poke through it is not enough. Green means the flow is up and red means it is down.

The orange line is the session VWAP, the average price paid today weighted by volume. It restarts at every open.

Key levels and divergences

Levels come from yesterday's high and low, the opening range, confirmed swing pivots and swing levels from bigger timeframes (the 1H, daily and weekly charts below 1H; 4H, daily and weekly on a 1H chart; weekly, monthly and quarterly on a daily chart). Levels that sit close together combine into one zone named after its sources — for example "1H swing low · Yesterday high". Green zones are support and red zones are resistance; only the nearest ones are drawn.

A zone counts as broken after two closes beyond it. It then flips role once — support becomes resistance — and is removed on the second break.

A divergence tag appears when price makes a new swing high (or low) but RSI does not confirm it, on swings that are already confirmed. Tags never move once drawn.

Strategy gates (daily and weekly)

On a daily or weekly chart the dashboard turns into the three gates of the UpTickFlow Strategy book, for the stock on your chart. Each gate shows ✓ (open), ✗ (closed) or ~ (partial), with the reason. They read closed weekly bars, so they do not repaint.

1 · Location
Is price at a weekly support zone that has held at least twice and has not been broken by a weekly close? The zone is drawn as a green box: "Weekly support · held 2×".
2 · Value
Is the stock's P/E (price ÷ trailing earnings per share) clearly below its own five-year median? Stocks only: ETFs and companies without earnings show n/a. The book's full value test — forward earnings, the sector median and the quality checks — stays with you.
3 · Trend
Is the last weekly close above a flat or rising long-term weekly average? The long-term (orange) and short-term (grey) weekly averages are drawn on the chart.
Verdict
"Grade A — all three gates open", "Grade B — conservative trigger only", or "Watchlist — wait". When the S&P 500 is below a falling long-term average, a Market row says to take Grade A only, at half risk.

The results table

Turn on "Results table (simulated)" to see how the signals on this chart would have played out on its history: entry at the next bar's open, half the position out at target 1, the rest at target 2 or at the stop (moved to the entry after target 1), one tick of slippage per side, a maximum holding time of about four hours below the 30-minute chart (to the session end from 30 minutes up) and an exit at the session end. When a bar touches both the stop and a target, it counts as a loss; when it reaches both targets, half closes at each.

Rows split the results by direction (trades, win rate, profit factor, expectancy, average win and loss, longest losing streak), by score band and by setup.

The results are simulated and have the limitations described in our risk disclosure. They are a way to judge the tool on your own symbols, not a promise.

Alerts

For the full plan in one message, create an alert on UpTickFlow and choose "Any alert() function call". Each message carries direction, setup, tier, score, symbol, timeframe, the entry (next open), the stop, target 1 and target 2 — and divergence events.

You can also pick a single condition: UpTickFlow Long, UpTickFlow Short, UpTickFlow Bull divergence, UpTickFlow Bear divergence, UpTickFlow Flow turned up or UpTickFlow Flow turned down. Alerts fire once per bar close and need a paid TradingView plan.
