Candlesticks
Body
Definition
The thick part of a candle, from the open to the close. Green when the close is above the open, red when it is below.
Example
Say two 1-hour candles each cover the same $2.00 range, from $48.00 to $50.00. The first opens at $48.10 and closes at $49.90, a green body of $1.80 that fills 90% of the range. The second opens at $49.00 and closes at $48.90, a red body of just $0.10, a sign that neither side won that hour despite the identical range.
